Are you called by God to serve as a catechist?

The objective of a catechist is tasked with the mission of showing others God's unconditional love for everyone.

A catechist is someone who helps form and deepen one's faith by following the teachings of Jesus in his or her own life. With the goal of reaching out to others to teach them about the living tradition and teachings of the Church

Many catechists are usually members of the laity but can also be clergy or from religious orders. The laity's vocation to catechesis is strengthened by their Baptism and Confirmation. They come from a variety of backgrounds, from a variety of professions, with a diverse range of skills and knowledge.

Qualities of a Catechist includes the desire to grow in and share faith with others, the awareness of the grace that God has bestowed upon them and the desire to respond to that grace as their lives continue to unfold.

Effective teaching is the key ingredient to be a catechist amid the ability to generate a sense of belong and self-esteem among learners in all contexts, in all variety of settings to help them flourish and grow in their faith.

The effectiveness of catechesis is a gift from God.

When you choose to become a catechist, you are opening yourself up to an incredible opportunity.

You will be able to share your faith in ways that enrich the lives of your students and deepen your own faith as well.
