Lent is a liturgical season in the Christian tradition that occurs during the 40 days leading up to Easter. It is a time of repentance, fasting, and reflection for many Christians.  Lesson Objectives: Students will understand the meaning and purpose of Lent. Students will be able to explain the traditions and practices associated with Lent. Materials: Bibles Handouts with information about Lent (optional) Lesson Outline:   Introduction: Begin by asking students if they have heard of Lent. Explain that Lent is a period of time in the Christian religion that occurs before Easter. Tell students that during Lent, many Christians practice repentance, fasting, and reflection.
