Spiritual Coach

These days, catechists are so much more than faith educators—they are coaches and mentors because they help build the confidence, self-esteem, communication skills and social skills of the children they teach.

Coaching is a process that aims to improve performance and focuses on what needs to happen right now, not in the future.

Usually, a coach will work with an individual or team to address personal challenges and help them achieve their desired outcomes.

Teaching someone to do something is far different than helping them learn.

Teaching involves telling the individual what to do, while coaching is about providing them with the tools they need to figure it out on their own.

Catechists have a deep understanding of the faith, which they can share with their students in order to form a deep relationship with Jesus.

Ways to keep the students attention is through the use stories, games, and other creative methods such as music, videos and craft activities to connect with Jesus.

Jesus is not just someone who existed but is also someone who they can connect with and grow closer to.
