The Sacrament of Baptism

Baptism is a sacrament that makes us children of God, and new life.

It gives us the Holy Spirit’s grace, bringing the life of God deep into our essence to make a new child in Christ.

Jesus wanted his disciples to go out into the world and preach.

Jesus commanded them to baptise in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

The priest baptises by pouring water on the forehead of the person to be baptised and saying the words, “I baptise you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”
